EXAMS EXPLAINED
Online exams are available if your course contains a voucher that allows you to take an exam online and not at a test centre. This page will explain the advantages of online exams as well as how they work in ITIL detail.
You can request your exam voucher if you already have one. Then you can schedule your exam. Contact us if you do not have an exam purchase.
Your exam voucher must be requested within six months of purchase. If purchased as part of a bundle, it must be requested while your subscription is active.
After you request your voucher, you have six months to schedule your exam.
To take a web-based exam, you’ll need a minimum of a 640x480pixel webcam with microphone. Your webcam can remotely proctor all web-based exams. You can take web-based exams at your convenience from anywhere you choose, including your home or office.
What are WEB-BASED EXAMS?
Online exams are a more flexible option.
It is simple to schedule and take online exams. Reputable examination institutes will offer online exams. They will deliver your exam at a convenient location and on a date and time that suits you. Online exams can be taken during the day, at night or before work.
Exam questions will be the same as those in a classroom exam or at a test centre. The exam questions will be displayed on the screen with your options for answers. You can click to choose your answer and move onto the next question. If you want to skip a question or review your answers, you can click to select another answer.
Web-based exams offer maximum flexibility and security without compromising standards.
HOW DO ONLINE EXAMS FLOW?
- First, go through all your online materials, including the sample paper. Then, when you feel ready,…
- Save your certificate of completion to your local computer.
- Fill out our online Request an Exam form (which also includes uploading your certificate to prove attendance).
- After your details have been verified, you will receive an email describing how to schedule your exam online.
- Your exam will begin at the time and date you have requested
- You can instantly see the result of your provisional exam by completing your online exam
- Your results will be confirmed by email and your final results sent to you.
WHAT CAN I DO TO SCHEDULE MY EXAM?
Once you are satisfied with your studies and have taken the sample exam, you can start to register for your exam.
You can request an exam online for all our courses. This will start the process. This form can be found in your learning portal at all times.
You can upload all necessary pre-requisites to this online form. This information will be verified and processed to complete the scheduling process. This web form will be sent to you as a PDF for your records.
We will take 48 hours to process your exam request. After you have received your exam registration details you will need to schedule the exam at the latest 72 hours before you want to take it.
Some examination centers may allow you to take the exam in as little as 72 hours. However, this could incur an additional fee.
Your exam can be taken online at any time. You will log in to the exam system at the time and date you have chosen and start your exam online. You will be proctored remotely via webcam by a real person.
You can request to change the date of your exam as long as you give 48 hours notice. You will lose your exam voucher if you do not show up for your exam or give 48 hours notice.
WHERE CAN IMPORTANTELY GET MY EXAM?
You can take web-based exams at any location you choose. Your home and your office are two good examples.
A quiet place is essential for your exam. You should clear your desk of any papers or materials.
You don’t need to go to any classroom or test centre.
What resources do I need?
You will need a computer that has a webcam and microphone to take your web-based exam.
Administrator rights are required to install the software used to monitor the exam sessions.
A photo ID is required (passport, government ID, or equivalent). The printer must be present in the area where the exam is being taken if it contains a printed document (e.g. ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle case studies).
You will need to bring a mirror or reflective surface to prove that your webcam is not attached to the laptop.
To pass a successful exam you will need:
- Windows(r), 10 (Windows 10S does not support),, Windows(r), 8.1, Windows(8)
- Recommended: Dual-core CPU at 2.4GHz or faster, with 2GB RAM
- An active broadband internet connection with at least 4Mbps
- 16-bit monitor (at minimum 15″) with screen resolution 1024×768 or higher
- Speakers and microphones (the use headsets are only permitted during onboard)
- Keyboard and mouse (or another pointing device)
- You can rotate a single web camera (embedded, external)

WHAT IS MY EXAM LIKE?
Just like any other web page, your exam scenarios/questions will be displayed on your screen in text.
You can control the flow of questions and their progress manually.
You will click on the answer you want to choose from the options as you go. If you need to change your mind, you can do so later.
When you’re satisfied with your answers, click the button to close your exam session.
You’ll immediately see if you passed or failed, but this result must be confirmed before it can become official.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I PASS?

Within 10 working days, your results will be verified and emailed. Your e-certificate will be available as soon as a successful result is confirmed.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY EXAM FAILS?
You can request another exam if you fail an exam.
If you have to retake the exam, our tutors will be in touch with you to provide guidance and advice.
WHERE CAN IMPORTER MY EXAM BE BUYED?
Exams can be purchased directly at the relevant Exam Institute (Peopelcert APMG Exin, BCS, or from your training provider.
Peoplecert vouchers are available for all ITIL prnce2 belfast. They are often cheaper than buying directly from the exam institute. You don’t have to be an ITSM Zone student in order to buy exams from us. We are also an Accredited Exam Organization.
